RUES Training

The RUES Training Bureau provides training for the general public and health care professionals. As an American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center*, courses adhere to the strictest standards and provide participants with the instruction and skills practice required by the latest AHA guidelines. The courses below are open to everyone with an interest in them and can be offered at alternate locations upon request. Location / Payment / Cancellations

Location: All courses will be held at the Rutgers Public Safety Building located at 55 Commercial Avenue, New Brunswick, New Jersey unless otherwise noted on the registration page. Parking is available in the deck adjacent to the building and the entrance is located on Elijah's Way off of Neilson Street.

All University parking rules apply. Please visit RUDOTS for details. One-day visitor permits will be available for anyone not affiliated with the University.

Course Payment: Course fees include instruction, textbooks and all training materials, unless otherwise stated. Participants are expected to pay by cash or check (made payable to "Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey") at the time of the course unless other arrangements are made in advance for billing via purchase order.

Participant Confirmation & Cancellation Notice: Participants that submit their registration via the link above will receive an e-mail confirmation within a few minutes of submission. If you did not receive the message or encountered problems, please e-mail for assistance.

IMPORTANT: RUES requests all participants to provide notice of cancellation at least 72 hours prior to course via e-mail at

Course Cancellation Notice: Rutgers University Emergency Services reserves the right to cancel courses with less than three confirmed participants and will provide notice to registered participants at least 48 hours in advance of the course. All attempts will be made to reschedule another session based on participant's preferences.

* The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent outside course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for the AHA course material, do not represent income to the AHA.
